The main islands of interest for yacht charters are Orcas Island, San Juan Island and Lopez Island, but there are half a dozen smaller islands that are worth a visit. For nature lovers there’s also the 113-acre state marine park nearby. Don’t forget the world famous Roche Harbor! If you’re lucky you just might come upon a pod of Orca on the West side of San Juan Island.

With more Marine Parks than anywhere else on the coast, you’ll never be short of a gorgeous anchorage. Desolation Sound offers some lovely walks, all within easy access from the anchorages. Take a hike to one of the four freshwater lakes or waterfall for a dip. If you’d prefer to cool off closer to your charter yacht, dive overboard into the warmest salt water north of Mexico!

Visit the Canadian Gulf Islands where the waters are calm and sheltered and brimming with sea life. From Dungeness crab, oysters, clams, prawns, salmon and cod, you’re bound to have some fantastic seafood on your plate by the end of the day.

The Southern Gulf Islands, are often referred to as the “San Juan’s of Canada”. The hillsides are covered with fabulous evergreen scenery and distinctive wildlife. Watch carefully for a perching Eagle.
